In preparation of our kickstarter project I made this sketch for ‘GangUp!’. It’s intended to be the cover for the cardbox, but I think it also makes a good promo poster :)
GangUp! Is a comical game about teamwork & betrayal. You need to organize your gang in order to pull off the most daring crimes and become CrimeTowns undisputed King!
sorry for the lack of updates guys, I’m too busy doing (always secret) freelance jobs & organizing very special figuere drawing sessions! Check out what that means here. but before you go, this is a recent collection characters for ‘Gang Up!’ a great card-game project that I work on with Paul. We really like to get it out there, but that requires me making about 100 illustrations (among other things of course). So doing that in my spare time, that keeps me busy for the next… 4 years. What? Wait, that’s way to long! Indeed! So we will try to get help from some friends & fans and organzize a kickstarter soon. More on that…soon ;)
These are the first designs I made for the ‘Linkin Park recharge’ game. Back then the game was still in it’s concept phase, and the first idea was to have ‘music and sound’ as some addictive drug in the world. So that explains the mesmorized zombies below On the other hand there were the creepy agents and the soundbots with their huge speakers. The player would have a sound-gun. When the game concept changed, these designs became obsolete – although much of it’s atmosphere in these images was kept.
Like it? Then check out the game at http://www.lprecharge.com/! It’s a fun game, and you will be supporting a good cause by playing it, so give it a try!
For a while now I’ve been working with Paul on a cardgame. We are past the first prototypes and the game is fun! So it was time for me to make some prototype art – and here it is; the card for Shotgun Mike!
these are some character designs I made for the game ‘Linkin Park Recharge’. I hope you like it! If you do, then you also might want to check out the game at http://www.lprecharge.com/! It’s a fun game, and you will be supporting a good cause by playing it, so give it a try! :)

These are some character designs I made:
And these are shots from the trailer/ intro of the game. These shots had to be animated, so all images are layered like the second image shows. I also made sure that the colors help the viewer to focus on what’s important’; and if you take a closer look you might notice that the colors are ‘handed over’ in the shots to achieve that. Looking at the first row you see that Yellow is the focus-color, next Red, and last Blue in the right row.
Fairytale Fights is a project close to my heart! I love creating compelling fantasy worlds, and this project gave me every opportunity to do so. I was involved from day one, as co-creator of the concept & story. I also produced the initial concept art and later on lead a team of over 30 artist as being the art director of the project. I also did a video interview for Electric Playground that gives a nice overview of our creation process; you can watch it here. In 2010 ‘Fairytale Fights’ also won the dutch game award for best visual design. If you want to get a quick impression Fairytale Fights, then check out the trailer:This movie gives an overview of the game; wich should also give you a fair impression my artistic involvement in the game:While I was still developing the initial concept I made the illustrations you see below. The basic idea was to integrate books and paper in the world, to give the world a strong and unique connection to Fairy Tales. The idea stayed throughout the project, but as you see in the movies, the style became even more abstract &stylistic.
So I can finally show you this art I made for the World of Warcraft Tribute book! I must admit, I was a huge fan of the first 3 Warcraft games but never played World of Warcraft myself (I’m sure I’ll get hooked and lose my job). I do however care for it’s characters, locations and the history behind it all. For this image I imagined there would be a great threat that forced King Varian Wrynn & Garrosh Hellscream to team up :) Enjoy!
if you like you can order your copy of the book here!
Last year I’ve made some art for the LINKIN PARK RECHARGE game. The new trailer was just released and that means I can finally show you a bit of what I’ve done! Like in this case the character-scenes that you see in the trailer. There is more, but I guess you will see that in the game :)
Enjoy!
